Taking First Steps Toward Knowing Jesus

For new believers, beginning a relationship with Jesus is like stepping onto a path of discovery—exciting, sometimes challenging, but deeply fulfilling. These first steps are foundational moments that shape your entire faith journey.
When you first come to know Jesus, you're not just adopting a new belief system—you're entering into a living relationship. Many new believers describe this time as one of profound peace and joy, even amid questions and adjustments. You're learning to recognise God's voice in your life, often through Scripture, prayer, or the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit.
These early days are about establishing simple, sustainable practices: spending quiet moments in prayer, reading small portions of Scripture daily, and connecting with other believers who can walk alongside you. Remember that spiritual growth isn't about perfection but persistence—continuing to show up, even when it feels unfamiliar.
Many new believers find the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) particularly meaningful as starting points, as they directly reveal Jesus' character, teachings, and love. Through these accounts, you begin to understand not just who Jesus is historically, but who He wants to be in your life personally.
The beauty of these first steps is that Jesus meets you exactly where you are. You don't need special knowledge or perfect understanding—just an open heart willing to follow where He leads.
