Fiji mission team 2025

Last week, our team of 17 returned home from Fiji, our hearts full and our spirits stirred after an incredible time of mission, serving our brothers and sisters in Nadi and Malevu.

This team was made up of four different churches, coming together as one body in Christ. It was a blessing to see unity in action: different congregations standing side by side, united by a shared purpose, working together to expand God’s Kingdom.

As Romans 12:5 reminds us:

"So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."

The Call to Go

From the very beginning, we knew this trip wasn’t just about visiting Fiji it was about taking the Gospel to the streets, to the prisons, to the villages, and into the very heart of the community.

Each step of the journey reminded us that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, meeting people where they are and showing them His love in action.

We saw lives changed, bodies healed, and hearts surrendered to Christ. There were baptisms, moments of deep worship, and countless opportunities to bring encouragement and hope to those who needed it most.

A Week of Mission: Day by Day

Here’s a glimpse into what God allowed us to be part of during our time in Fiji.

First 6 Dispatched and Arrived Early: Arrival & Prayer

On the Thursday a small advance team of six arrived early in Fiji.

Friday: Praying over Fiji: The team connected with the youth in Malevu. They gathered on Ulu Langi Mountain in Melevu, where a bonfire was lit, and the team and the youth from Melevu prayed over Fiji, interceding for the land, the city, and the people. It was a powerful beginning, declaring that this mission belonged to God.

Saturday Equipping Businesses: House Church Elders and Shepherds Ambrose and Jo Blowfield led a business seminar with 16 local Fijian business owners. The focus was to equip them to grow their businesses in alignment with Kingdom principles, creating impact not just in the marketplace but also in their communities.

Sunday: Worship Across the Villages

While part of our team worshipped and preached at the Malamala house church in Nadi,
others joined the Malevu house church, sharing the Word and encouraging local community members.

This time of fellowship was a beautiful reminder of the global Church family, different locations but united in the same Spirit.

Monday: The rest of the team arrived and settled, ready for the week.

Tuesday: Prisons & Orphanages

Tuesday morning began with early morning devotions

Followed by ministry into the men’s and women’s prisons. Walking into the women’s prison was deeply humbling. As we entered, we were greeted by the sound of worship in Fijian, their voices so filled with passion that many of us felt the Holy Spirit’s presence immediately.
It was a privilege to share hope and truth with these precious women and men, many of whom are hungry for freedom in Christ.

That afternoon, we visited a local orphanage. For some of our team, this was their third year returning, and the joy of reconnecting with the children was overwhelming. We brought games, laughter, and the Word of God, spending precious time showing them they are seen, loved, and valued by their Heavenly Father.

Wednesday: Villages, Markets, and Prayer

Wednesday was a full day of ministry. Our team split into smaller groups, visiting homes in a village close to Malevu area, praying with families, and sharing the hope of Jesus. We witnessed salvations and healings as the Holy Spirit moved through those moments of connection and encouragement.

Later, some of our team went to the markets in Sigatoka, taking the Gospel to the heart of everyday life. Others visited smaller villages and met with local pastors, strengthening relationships, praying and supporting their work.

That evening, we gathered for a prayer night at Malevu, a time of intercession, worship, and equipping. It was encouraging to see the House Churches gathering in together, seeking God’s presence. Our team gave testimonies and brought the word to the people of Fiji in a very relatable and impactful way. We are really proud of all our team for stepping up and not just sharing the gospel, but also sharing their own stories.

Thursday: The Streets and the Markets

Thursday morning saw us back at the markets. We prayed for many people and businesses, we saw healings take place, and even witnessed individuals giving their lives to Jesus right there in the open air.

On Thursday night, we visited Gift Care Ministry, a ministry led by Pastor Tui, which serves street children.
Pastor James taught on the B.L.E.S.S acronym, equipping the congregation with practical ways to serve and disciple their communities.

Friday: Equipping for the Future

Friday was all about multiplication. Jo and Ambrose trained the house church’s and leaders in Discovery Bible Study (DBS)  a It is a simple but replicable method for reading Scripture, obeying it, and sharing it with others. This training equips disciples to make disciples who make disciples, ensuring that the work continues long after our team leaves.

 Saturday: Mountains, Youth, and Fellowship

Saturday morning began with a climb to the top of Ululangi Mountain. Together, as a team, we prayed over the land, declaring God’s blessing and presence over Fiji. It was a beautiful moment of unity.

Later, we experienced and helped prepare a traditional Fijian Lovo Dinner — similar to a New Zealand hāngi a wonderful time of cultural connection and gratitude.

Saturday evening was all about youth night!
Both Malevu and Nadi house churches shared action songs, and even our New Zealand team joined in with one of our own.

We had Shawny a House church Shepherd share her testimony. It hit the youth right where they were and really drilled in how good God is. It was both impactful and encouraging.

We then had Arabella Blowfield who is our Kids Church Leader for the House Church Network Gathering in Auckland. Arabella did her first preach and it was fantastic.

We ended the night by praying over the youth, speaking life and destiny into the next generation. It’s an evening that we will remember for a long time.

Sunday: Baptisms and Farewell

On our final day, we gathered for a service, followed by baptisms, a beautiful picture of new life in Christ.

As we shared lunch and prepared to leave, our hearts were full.
We knew we were leaving a piece of ourselves behind, but also taking with us countless stories of God’s faithfulness.

Mission Highlights

Throughout the week, there were so many unforgettable moments. Here are just a few:

  • Taking the Gospel to the Streets:
Watching our team go into the markets, praying for those in need of healing and encouragement, was so moving. It was a vivid reminder that Jesus calls us to go where the people are and bring His light to every corner of the community.
  • Equipping House Churches:
Training our Nadi and Malevu house churches in the B.L.E.S.S Acronym and the Discovery Bible Study was a highlight. It’s incredible to see the local Fijian House Churches equipped to multiply disciples and grow their communities.
  • Spirit-Filled Worship:
The worship in Fiji is like no other.
When Fijians sing, they pour out their whole hearts to the Lord.
Many of us were brought to tears as we felt the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit filling the room.

Reflections

We return home deeply grateful for all that God did during this mission. This trip was a big reminder that He is moving, that His Kingdom is advancing, and that we are blessed to play even a small part in His plan for Fiji.

As we reflect on this journey, we are reminded that mission is not just a trip it’s a way of life.
Whether in Fiji, New Zealand, or anywhere in the world, we are called to live out the Great Commission every day, making disciples and sharing the hope of Jesus.

May we continue to live united as one body, advancing God’s Kingdom until the whole world knows His name.
